Birchbox x Tatler November 2016

Happy Thursday lovelies!

Time for another Birchbox and if you read my sneak peek you will know I was excited about this month’s edition!

Curated by Francesca White, Tatler’s’ amazing beauty editor this month’s edition is jam packed with fantastic goodies and while Birchbox has been hit and miss in the past this month there isn’t a single item in my box I’m not completely in love with!

The beloved drawer design is back again with a stunning blue and purple peacock design that just feels very luxurious. These little drawers are coming in so handy for storing my makeup in and I’m now building up a decent sized set of drawers on my dressing table housing everything from lipstick to concealers.

Onto the boxes contents!

First up Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar Primer (£15.00 – sample size)

A few people have said this is a very tiny sample but if you consider the full size is only 9 grams this 2.5g sample doesn’t seem so bad. It’s more than enough to last a good while and the smallest drop goes a long way.  Even better there was one inside every box this month so nobody misses out on this.

How could I not love the name of this brand being so close to my own. I wasn’t sure if I would like this as I haven’t been taken with lip primers I have tried in the past but this one is dramatically different. It doesn’t feel sticky and it does have menthol feel to it which gives it a plumping effect. It is smooth and softening and goes a long way.

It does a great job of keeping my lip colour on much longer that it otherwise would have lasted.

Next Marcelle BB Cream Golden Glow Illuminator (£25.50 – sample size)

Everyone got two makeup products in this month’s box which always makes us happy subscribers. This was my second product and I’m glad this is the one I got. Firstly, the other possible products I believe were brow products and I can be funny about brow products.

This super smooth BB cream blends beautifully and has a lovely shimmer to it. Alot of people have said that this cream is much too dark for those of us with pale skin tones, I haven’t had that issue. My skin is very fair and use this sparingly, it adjusts to my skin tone without any issues.

Next was Nuxe Creme Proigieuse Moisturiser – (£21.00 – sample size)

Another product that everyone got this month. Birchbox has featured this brand a few times in the last year. Never the less I love this brand and this is absolutely my favourite scent. Anything from this range I can guarantee I will immediately love.

A very smooth cream that sinks in well leaving it’s delicious hazelnut scent on the skin for ages. Whenever I’m using a Nuxe moisturiser my skin always feels super hydrated and while pricey it’s a amazing option for protecting winter skin.

Next Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle – (£18.50 – sample size)

A Birchbox exclusive brand which has been featured a few times but this is the first time I have tried it. I have very long thick hair which ties itself in horrible knots almost constantly so this is a welcome addition to my hair care arsenal.

with an amazing smell it feels very lightweight. I spritzed it through towel dried hair before blow drying. The smell stayed in my hair and left it very soft and shiny. This made getting the knots out of my damp hair a complete breeze!

I am loving this spray I just not sure I can justify the price of it considering I know of a few other (much cheaper) high street brand which also have very similar effects.

Last thing Wet Brush Midi – (£8.99 – full size)

This was the product I was most excited about this month. I recently had to retire my beloved tangle teaser (apart my boyfriend stole it to groom his beard! sharing a hairbrush is just not cool in my book)

Now I loved my tangle teaser but it always felt more like a comb than a brush and I have been considering replacing it with a Wet Brush. I have heard so many good things about them and they have the more traditional brush design that I prefer so one arriving in my beauty box was a real win for me.

I love the colour and the brush hasn’t disappointed. I can use it on my thick long hair when it is wet, damp or dry without any pulling or tangling. I’m pleased Birchbox sent this with the Protect & Detangle spray it makes it feel like they have put consideration into the combination of samples in the box that work well together, it makes it a nice touch.

Over all I think this edition is well thought out and good value. It has a lovely mix of products which are all exciting. The box design is beautiful and I think this comes in at my favourite edition this year!

Were the rest of you as pleased as I was? What did you get in your box?
