So a little something to brighten up an otherwise dull Monday.
I popped into town yesterday to see if I could pick up the new MAC nutcracker highlighter/blush duo, unfortunately MAC Nottingham has completely sold out…sad faces.
But instead I did a little bargain shopping and picked up a few great deals and I’m very chuffed with what I managed to grab. I will do some more in depth reviews of some of these things later.
Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight serum and Intense Moisture Cream Duo
First thing I popped in the Body shop. After trying out their Chamomile cleaner I was impressed and I have heard good things about their vitamin E range. I wanted to try the vitamin E serum but at £15.00 it is a little pricey.
They had this little duo set for £20.00 which included the serum and the Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream which makes the price a bit easier to handle.
Now winter is well on the way my skin is getting back to its normal dry itchy state so now it a good time to try out this range as its focus is hydration.
I love this smell of this range it reminds me a bit of talc. My first impressions of both the serum and the moisture cream are good. The moisture cream is very thick and rich almost more like a butter consistency. It feels smooth and hydrating and doesn’t feel greasy at all.
The serum feels more like a facial oil to me than a serum but it is very hydrating. Put it on before bed and leave it to sink in slowly. It is very slow to absorb but that what you would expect from an overnight serum. it has the same lovely talc smell and it left my skin feeling smooth and soft in the morning.
Lush Northern Lights Bath bomb
After the body shop I headed to Lush and picked up a bath bomb. It’s been ages since I had an evening chilling out with a Lush bath, a face mask and a good book. It used to be one of my favourite past times.
I settled on the Northern Lights bath bomb, packed with Jasmine and Ylang Ylang, two of my favourite scents. This one has a purple layer on the outside then an inner core of half blue half yellow.
Thanks to it cylindrical shape when it starts fizzing it spins in circles releasing intense spirals of colour and a beautiful scent.
I have tried lots of Lush’s bath bombs but this is one I will defiantly buy again!
Too Faced Bulletproof Shadow liner sticks in Get Lucky and Silver Lining
I went to T K Maxx as well because let’s face it a decent bargain hunt shop can’t be complete without a trip to T K Maxx. There was so much I could have bought but I was trying to be “sensible” but I couldn’t pass up two of Too Faced’s Bulletproof Shadow liner Sticks at £5.99 each. I think these shadow sticks normally retail for about £18-20 each so that’s a pretty big saving!
I already have one of these sticks from a previous beauty box so I already know I love them. Very smooth and creamy and they are pretty budge proof. They are great for different coloured cat flicks but equally just as good as eyeshadows. They blend beautifully using either a finger or the little blending sponge on the other end of the stick.
Often in T K Maxx it can be a bit of a hunt as things get damaged easily but these were in pristine condition. The boxes were a bit scruffy but I don’t mind that after all I’m not going to wear the box. They had 4 colours and I wish I had bought one of each at that price but I decide on “Get Lucky” a lovely shimmery teal colour and “Silver lining”.
The last place I went was Debenhams since it was the last day of their sale. Some things were better deals that others and I ended up buying two things that have been on my lust list for quite a while.
Too Faced Melted Lipstick in Chihuahua
First was a Too Faced Melted Lipstick in a stunning Nude shade called “Chihuahua”. Original price was £19.00 and sale price was £17.10 so not a huge saving but I have been lusting over this is for a long time.
The shade is stunning and it is very creamy and does last very well. I love the little sponge applicator, I can see this one getting a lot of use and there are a few other shade I would like in my collection.
Urban Decay Vice Reloaded Pallet
The last thing I picked up was the one I was the most pleased with. The Urban Decay Vice Reloaded pallet. With 20 super pigmented, wonderfully smooth, blendable, bright colours which just scream at the colour junkie in me.
The pallet looks stunning with a nice chunky black design and a purple gem style UD logo on the front. It comes with a massive mirror and one of Urban Decay’s brilliant double ended brushes.
The retail price of this pallet is £43.00 and in the sale, it came in at £30.10 so I can’t moan at a saving of £12.90 for such a stunning pallet.
That was everything I picked up. I feel pleased with the deals I managed to grab but I think in the end I did spend more money than I should have done…opps
